How to make a garland for Midsummer.
This is a must for young girls in Sweden during the Midsummer dance.
You start with a ring (slightly large for the girls head) made of some suitable wire and wrapped with aluminium foil and then covered with thin plastic film. All things easily found in the kitchen. Start to attach leaves and flowers using ordinary sewing thread. Wind the thread round and round. To keep things in place you will need to make lots of knots as it helps to keep things in place. Now you keep winding and adding leaves and flowers as you go along until you have finished the garland. You will get lots of help from your target girl if you ask her to fetch flowers. This is particularly true for the flowers you cherish the most in your garden. If you do not understand this you will after trying for real! Try to keep the flowers evenly spread around the ring. For a "original" look try white blue and yellow like this but the final result will always be fantastic regardless of colour as you can see in picture 14 below. Your "target" will be Very Happy I can promise you from experience. Good luck.
